Race the Close is an exclusive 100m sprint competition for a small group of senior finance leaders, taking place at Parliament Hill Athletics Track in London on 28th May 2026, from 8:30am–11:00am.
The morning is hosted by Eugene Amo-Dadzie, a chartered accountant turned elite GB 100 meter sprinter, also known as the World's Fastest Accountant. Drawing on his journey from the accounting floor to the international track, Eugene will share what it takes to turn ambition into world-class performance: discipline, resilience, and the mindset of stepping outside your comfort zone, before taking everyone to the track for the heats and final.
It's a tight-knit, invite-only morning curated for a selection of handpicked finance leaders. We only have a limited number of spots available. No track experience required.

08:30: Arrival and intros
08:50: Inspirational warm up session with Eugene
09:10: The race heats (4 rounds, 5 minutes each)
09:30: Finals (8 finalists, 1 final race)
09:45: Winner announcements
09:50: Cool down
10:00 - 11:00: Networking and refreshments
Note: Dedicated changing rooms and shower facilities are provided to help you freshen up post-race.
About Eugene Amo-Dadzie
Eugene Amo-Dadzie is a chartered accountant turned elite GB sprinter, widely known as "the world's fastest accountant."
He didn't start competitive sprinting until he was 26, while working as a senior accountant at St George plc, part of the Berkeley Group. Within five years he broke the 10-second barrier, and by 2025 he had run 9.87 seconds over 100m, tying Linford Christie as the joint second-fastest British man in history and fifth on the all-time European list.
Eugene has represented Great Britain at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest and Tokyo, won the 100m at the 2025 European Athletics Team Championships in Madrid, and anchored the British men's 4x100m relay at multiple international championships.
At Race the Close, Eugene will open the morning with a session on turning ambition into elite performance, drawing on his own experience of going from the audit room to the world stage, before taking everyone through the heats and final race on the track.
