The legacy solution mismatch

Ten years ago, I was a product manager in Uber’s FinTech team. I saw how challenging it was to handle a global financial close across 70+ countries. Given Uber’s deep focus on data and automation, we had to stitch together different legacy systems and build custom tools, because no great solution existed.

Later, while leading Plaid’s European expansion, I saw the same problem: legacy close management solutions were still the norm. Finance teams wanted to become more strategic, but they were still bogged down by repetitive tasks and clunky software.

The mismatch became painfully clear: as CFOs grew into more forward-thinking leaders, the monthly close remained outdated and manual. That’s why we founded Stacks.ai—to solve this problem head-on and empower finance teams to focus on the high-impact work.
