Why fragmented reconciliations slow teams down and how Stacks keeps everything in one place.
Why We Built This
When we spoke with controllers and senior accountants, one theme came up again and again: “Reconciliations live everywhere.”
Spreadsheets, folders, Slack threads, ERP exports. Keeping track of which accounts were complete, reviewed, or flagged was always harder than it should be.
The work was getting done, but it was slow, repetitive, and hard to follow. Each team had its tracking system, and each reviewer had to ask for context. And when the audit came around, everything had to be recompiled from scratch.
The problem wasn’t just inefficiency. It was fragmentation. We built Central Recons to fix that.
What It Solves
Central Recons directly connects the full reconciliation workflow into one system, tasks, data, documents, approvals, and automation, to your ERP.
1. Real-Time ERP Sync
Every reconciliation task links to live balances and transactions from your ERP.
If a balance changes after submission, the task reopens automatically and alerts the right people. There’s no need to manage version control or check for changes manually.

2. AI-Powered Matching
Stacks doesn’t just track work, it helps complete it.
Our AI reads supporting documents like statements and maps them line by line to the general ledger. You can confirm matches or resolve exceptions without switching tabs or copying numbers. What used to take hours now takes minutes.

3. Smart Frequency by Risk
Not every account needs the same treatment. Stacks helps teams focus their time by flagging high-risk accounts for monthly reconciliation (like cash or high-volume accruals), while letting lower-risk accounts be reviewed quarterly.
This risk-based approach keeps controls tight, without wasting time on low-impact work.
4. Context Stays With the Work
Supporting docs, notes, explanations, and review history live inside each task.
No need to dig through shared folders. No guessing about why something was approved. Everything is recorded and visible where it’s needed.
5. Clear Ownership and Visibility
Each reconciliation has a defined preparer and reviewer.
You can quickly see what’s in progress, what’s overdue, what’s blocked, and what needs follow-up. No more chasing updates across teams.

6. Issues Caught Early
Stacks continuously checks reconciliations for common risks—unbalanced accounts, missing explanations, or mismatched support. If something looks off, it's flagged before review, not after.
Why It Matters
Reconciliations aren’t a side task—they hold the close together.
When reviews are slow or scattered, they tend to drag on, causing a decline in trust in the numbers. Conversely, when they are structured and collaborative, the whole team operates more efficiently with fewer surprises.
We built Central Recons on one principle: If your team touches it every month, make it effortless to do and easy to trust.
